The "fuhrer" of the aggressor state, Vladimir Putin, fears his troops returning home, which is why the dictator refuses to end the war in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told reporters.

According to the president, Putin has no intention of stopping and his claims about seeking peace are "a lie." Zelenskyy added that Ukraine's partners understand this and believe that, together, they can stop the Kremlin "fuhrer".

"Putin wants everything here to burn. He is a madman—our partners sense this. Ukraine is ready for negotiations with him. Unquestionably, Putin fears his army returning home. That is why he is so afraid of the war ending without a victory. He physically fears his army. If the war ends without specific security guarantees, he will return to war," Zelenskyy said.

The president warned once again that in the future, "others could come under attack." At the same time, he stressed the necessity of pressuring Moscow so that Kyiv, in turn, holds a position of strength.
