Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has urged the International Atomic Energy Agency and the international community to press Russia to abandon plans to strike substations supplying the country’s nuclear power plants.
He wrote about the threat on the social platform X.
Sybiha recalled that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia is preparing dangerous attacks on substations that feed Ukraine’s nuclear facilities.
“Moscow knows no limits in its genocidal aim to deprive Ukrainians of electricity during the freezing winter. We are sharing relevant data with our partners, warning of potentially catastrophic consequences,” the foreign minister cautioned.
Sybiha urged the IAEA and major world powers “that value nuclear safety,” to force Moscow to abandon such reckless plans.
