Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev, known as the Kremlin’s social media mouthpiece, said Estonia "belonged to Russia just like Donbas did," effectively voicing territorial claims against the neighbouring country.
The comments were made in his post on the X platform.
The senior Russian official and former president made the brazen statement in response to the claim by Estonian politician and EU diplomatic chief Kaja Kallas that the aggressor state demands from Ukraine what it never owned, referring to Donbas.
Medvedev used insulting language regarding the appearance and intellect of the EU representative and, in a fit of hysterical reaction, wrote that Donbas was supposedly "Russian and no one else's."
"Actually, Estonia (horrors!) was also part of Russia," the loyal henchman of the aggressor state's president Vladimir Putin concluded his absurd post.
The comparison of Estonia to Donbas by a top Kremlin mouthpiece exposes Moscow's aggressive plans toward the Baltic states, which are members of NATO.
