Russia is escalating the scale of its simultaneous «Shahed» drone attacks against Ukraine, making them increasingly difficult to shoot down.

The statement was made by Deputy Air Force Commander Pavlo Yelizarov (callsign «Lazar») on the sidelines of the 4th International Summit of Cities and Regions: «Partnership. Resilience. Readiness.»

According to him, the number of «Shahed» drones launched by Russia simultaneously is growing rapidly. «Lazar» cited an example where 741 «Shahed» drones were launched at Ukraine in a single day, with only 23 of the Russian strike drones reaching their targets.

«This by no means absolves us of responsibility for the fact that these „Shaheds“ hit their targets. However, our job is genuinely becoming harder, because the number of ‘Shaheds’ launched simultaneously is growing rapidly, ” the deputy commander of the Air Force said.

He added that the Russians are constantly changing their drone tactics and scaling up the strikes. The drone attacks themselves are becoming increasingly complex for air defense systems due to the simultaneous deployment of large numbers of UAVs and the combination of various types of weaponry.
