Ukrainian specialists have handed over all collected fragments of the Russian «Oreshnik» missile, used by Russia in attacks against Ukrainian territory, for official forensic analysis.

This was reported on the Ukrainian television channel «We — Ukraine» by Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy.

According to him, this marks the third time the Ukrainian side has had the opportunity to examine this specific type of weapon. This time, the recovered missile fragments are in significantly better condition.

«This is the third „Oreshnik“ we have been able to investigate. Compared to the previous instances, more remnants suitable for examination have been preserved. Recovering them was not difficult, as 95% of the available debris was lying in an open field,» the Presidential Commissioner explained.

Preliminary analysis, he said, indicated that the missile’s design relies on outdated Soviet technologies from the 1970s and 1980s. At the same time, Vlasiuk pointed out that the lack of modern elements provides the Russians with a certain advantage.

«This relatively low-tech nature has a certain strength to it. We believe there are no foreign components inside. The Soviet components used do indeed root back to designs from the 70s and 80s. They are virtually immune to electronic warfare (EW) and do not depend on any supplies of Western, Chinese, or Japanese components,» the official said.

Along with the «Oreshnik» debris, Ukrainian experts found other recently manufactured Russian weapons used in the latest massive strike. These included Kh-101 cruise missiles launched at the Kyiv region, Iskander ballistic missiles, and «Shahed"-type drones, all deployed straight from the factory.

«We also recovered intact „Shaheds.“ I think we will quickly confirm that these are brand-new weapons with relatively fresh foreign components,» Vlasiuk concluded.
