Commenting on Russia's attacks on Kyiv and the Kremlin's fresh threats, China, in its signature manner, called on the "relevant parties" to refrain from intensifying hostilities.
Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated this, Ukrinform reports.
She reiterated that Beijing's position on the "Ukrainian crisis"—the term China uses for the war nw in its fifth year—remains "consistent and clear."
"We believe that dialogue and negotiations are the only viable way to resolve the conflict," Mao replied when asked about Beijing's reaction to Moscow's fresh threats to launch new attacks on Kyiv.
Predictably, the diplomat urged "the parties to jointly make efforts to de-escalate the situation as quickly as possible and create conditions for the resumption of dialogue and negotiations."
When asked by Ukrinform whether China would give in to Russian blackmail and evacuate its embassy diplomats from Kyiv, Mao Ning gave neither a positive nor a negative answer.
