The aftermath of the drone attack on the Kharkiv market
In the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv, an enemy drone struck a section of roadway near the market’s trading pavilions. The strike damaged a public transport stop, the facades and windows of the market pavilions, and a single truck.
Psychologists from the Kharkiv Regional Emergency Service were on site to provide support to victims and witnesses.
Injuries from the attack
Two people were injured. Viktor Zabashta, director of the Emergency Medical Service Centre, said the victims were middle-aged men who sustained cuts from broken glass. Their injuries are considered minor, though both were hospitalized for further assessment and care.
What saved lives
Yuliya Nabokova, director of the market, told journalists that three trading pavilions were damaged.
“Today the market was closed for a sanitation day, which saved the lives of others. Normally, there are many people here, with vehicles trading and wholesale buyers present,” Nabokova said.
She added that a pizzeria and two vegetable pavilions were affected by the strike.
