The aftermath of the February 7 attack is being recorded in several Ukrainian regions, with emergency power cuts in effect.

Overnight, Russian forces launched another large‑scale missile and drone strike on Ukraine. The main target was energy infrastructure, hitting key substations and 750 kV and 330 kV transmission lines that form the core of the grid.
Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal said Russia also struck generation facilities, including the Burshtyn and Dobrotvir thermal power plants.
“Units at nuclear plants were unloaded by staff. At present, 4.5–5 stages of emergency outage schedules are applied nationwide, while special schedules are in place in eastern and northern regions. Ukrenergo’s dispatcher has requested emergency aid from Poland,” Shmyhal said.
DTEK said emergency electricity shutdowns were carried out on the dispatcher’s orders, affecting Kyiv and other regions.
Ukrenergo says that because of damage to energy sites, earlier published hourly outage schedules are temporarily suspended.
Zelenskyy commented on the Russian attack of 7 February
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia used over 400 drones and about 40 different missiles in the February 7 attack.
“Russia could choose diplomacy every day, but instead chooses new strikes. It is important that all those supporting the trilateral negotiations respond to this. Moscow must be stopped from using cold to pressure Ukraine. Missiles for Patriot, NASAMS and other systems are needed. Each batch helps us through the winter. Thanks to all partners who understand and provide real support,” the Head of State said.
Mass attack on 7 February — what was launched
According to the Air Force, during the night of February 7, 447 aerial threats were detected. They included two Zircon missiles fired from occupied Crimea, 21 Kh‑101 cruise missiles from the Caspian area, and 16 Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea. Russia also used 408 attack drones of the "Shahed", "Gerbera", "Italmas" and other types.
The strikes mainly targeted western and central regions, including Lviv, Ivano‑Frankivsk, Rivne and Vinnytsia.
By 10:30 a.m., air defenses had destroyed or suppressed 406 targets — 24 missiles and 382 drones. Among them were 14 Kh‑101 cruise missiles and 10 Kalibr missiles.
At the same time, 13 missiles and 21 strike drones hit 19 locations. In three other places, debris from downed drones was recorded.
Ivano‑Frankivsk region
Local media reported an air raid alert lasted from 03:12 a.m. In Burshtyn, the first blasts were heard around 4 a.m., with more than ten powerful explosions recorded by 7 a.m.
Regional Military Administration Head Svitlana Onyshchuk the attack with missiles and drones. Explosions were also heard in Ivano‑Frankivsk, where, where Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv said air defenses were operating.
Martsinkiv later said the energy system remains critical after the attack. Despite air defense, infrastructure was damaged and power outages may be prolonged.
Lviv region
The region was under drone and missile attack for over six hours. Critical energy infrastructure was hit.
In Staryi Dobrotvir, a house caught fire after a drone strike. The blaze was put out and no casualties were reported. Air defenses downed several drones and at least two missiles.
Regional Military Administration Head Maksym Kozytskyi said more than 6,000 residents of Dobrotvir lost heat and water after the strike. Emergency services are working at the site.
Hourly blackout schedules are in place in the region. Over 600,000 customers are without electricity.
Volyn region
Head of the Regional Military Administration Roman Romanyuk reported damage to a critical infrastructure facility as a result of a "Shahed" drone attack. There were no casualties, and emergency services are working at the site.

Kyiv region
A major fire broke out at a warehouse complex of a confectionery plant in Yahotyn after a drone strike. Emergency services are working to contain it.
Activist Serhiy Sternenko and lawmaker Oleksiy Honcharenko said Roshen company warehouses were hit.

Residential and industrial sites were also damaged. Emergency blackouts were introduced, and critical facilities and mobile stations switched to backup power.
Head of the Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnyk said five houses and four cars were damaged in Brovary district. In Boryspil district, warehouses and a logistics centee were also hit.
Khmelnytskyi region
Head of the Regional Military Administration Serhiy Tyurin said air defenses were active and a residential building was hit. A man born in 1971 sustained a leg injury, was hospitalised, and is in satisfactory condition.

Rivne region
Head of the Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Koval said a house was struck, critical infrastructure damaged and two people wounded. Power cuts were reported and water supply may be disrupted.

Dnipropetrovsk region
Russian drones hit the region. In Dnipro, a municipal company, trolleybuses and other vehicles were damaged.
In Synelnykove district, a 68‑year‑old woman was hurt, houses, a gas pipeline and a fire station were damaged. Nikopol district was shelled with artillery.
Vinnytsia region
An educational facility was damaged. One building’s wall collapsed, five other buildings including dormitories were hit, with doors and over 150 windows broken and heating affected.
No casualties were reported. Emergency services are working at the site, assessing the scale of destruction.

Chernihiv region
Over the past day, Chernihiv region came under 32 attacks, with about 60 explosions recorded.
In Semenivka, two blasts from “Molniya” munitions damaged an apartment block with a grocery store, private homes and a power line. A “Molniya” strike also hit a communications site near the border. A "Shahed" drone attacked transport infrastructure in Nizhyn district.
Cherkasy region
The regional administration reported another attack. Air defense forces destroyed six enemy drones, mostly without consequences.
Officials said air defences shot down six drones. Most caused no damage.
In Uman district, however, civilian infrastructure was damaged in the morning.
Drone debris and a blast wave affected at least three houses, farm buildings and several cars.
One person sought medical help, diagnosed with an acute stress reaction. Emergency and utility services are working, and inspections continue.
Power cuts were introduced due to strain on the grid.
Poland raised aviation
Poland scrambled fighter jets overnight as Russia attacked Ukraine. The military said air defense and radar systems were on high alert, with no airspace violations.
Airports in Rzeszów and Lublin suspended flights around 6:30 a.m. to prioritize military aviation.
The FAA said in a notice to pilots the airports were temporarily closed due to “unplanned military activity” and “actions to ensure national security.”
