Defense of Pokrovsk: Ukrainian troops reveal real situation

n the Myrnohrad area of Donetsk region, tensions remain high. In Pokrovsk, Russian troops have reduced their activity and limited movements while awaiting reinforcements of their main forces.

The press service of Ukraine’s 7th Air Assault Corps reported this.

Defense forces operating within the corps’ area of responsibility continue search-and-strike missions to locate and eliminate Russian units in Pokrovsk. Inside the city and on its outskirts, combat operations are being conducted by drone units, assault and airborne assault formations of the Special Operations Forces, Security Service, National Guard, and National Police.

According to the military, Russian forces are attempting to restore supply routes through Pokrovsk’s southern outskirts. In this sector, the enemy has made several attempts to move personnel by vehicles and motorcycles, but Ukraine’s Defense Forces have successfully blocked their efforts.

Russian troops are taking heavy losses in Pokrovsk — 71 killed and 36 wounded since early November, according to reports.

In recent days, the enemy has made several attempts to infiltrate the village of Hryshyne, planning to enter disguised as civilians. Ukrainian fighters halted the incursion.

In Myrnohrad, the situation remains tense, the corps stresses. According to Ukrainian forces, after numerous failed assaults from the east, the enemy is likely preparing to shift the direction of its next attack.
