Enemy strikes gas facility in Odesa region: Fire visible from Romania

Russian forces attacked the Izmail district of the Odesa region with drones on the night of August 6, damaging gas infrastructure. A fire broke out at the site, which was visible from Romania.

This was reported by Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, and Telegram channels.

During the drone attack on the Izmail district, gas infrastructure was damaged, leading to a fire that was extinguished by firefighters at 07:25. «Work is currently underway to release gas from the system. The fire destroyed production equipment,» Kiper noted.

Due to the damage to the main gas pipeline, 2,500 subscribers have been temporarily disconnected from gas supply.

Efforts to address the consequences are ongoing, with all relevant services working at the scene. Law enforcement is documenting the aftermath of yet another Russian crime.

Videos of the fire in the Izmail district, filmed from Romanian territory, have appeared on social media.
