How Ukraine can keep the battlefield edge: Fedorov weighs in

Ukraine believes it has regained the initiative on the battlefield through strikes on Russian forces, logistics hubs, and oil infrastructure. Ukraine is now urging its Western partners to ramp up military aid as quickly as possible before Russia adapts to the changing conditions.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov made the remarks in an interview with Politico.

According to Fedorov, Kyiv is asking allies to invest in a new wave of drones, missiles, and cutting-edge military tech to keep the squeeze on Russia and lock in recent battlefield gains.

"We need the next level of assistance to finish the job," Fedorov said. "If we have enough resources to launch a new cycle of military innovation before Russia adapts to the current one, we will gain another six months," Fedorov said.

He added that if Ukraine's partners fund a new cycle of military innovation before Russia adjusts to existing developments, the country will be able to maintain its technological edge for another six months.
