He shared his assessment on Telegram.

According to Terekhov, in recent days, Russian strikes have destroyed two transformer substations that supplied power to Kharkiv.

“This is a serious blow to the capacities of JSC "Kharkivoblenergo." Looking at the pattern of attacks, it is already clear that the forthcoming winter will be the harshest Kharkiv has endured throughout all years of the war,” the city head warned.

At the same time, Terekhov reassures residents that energy workers are doing everything possible to ensure electricity remains in homes.

“While around 22,000 subscribers were left without power overnight, now the number is approximately 3,500. This progress has been achieved thanks to the round-the-clock and coordinated work of the energy specialists at "Oblenergo" and Kharkiv’s municipal services…,” he wrote.

Terekhov urged citizens to “face reality.” He stressed that Russia will not cease its attempts at terror and will continue trying to plunge Ukrainians into cold and darkness.

“At any moment, a new strike on critical infrastructure could occur, capable in seconds of destroying what we have been building and restoring for months. Unfortunately, such situations have already happened multiple times in the past and continue to occur today. Therefore, one must always be prepared for anything,” the Kharkiv mayor concluded.
