Russia claims to be open to a dialogue with the European Union, according to a statement made by Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov.
RIA Novosti reported on the matter.
"Russia is ready for a dialogue with the European Union," Ushakov said.
As Ushakov previously stated, Moscow considers the EU's approach to negotiations to be inherently flawed.
"The Europeans are clearly pushing for the war to continue. Moreover, they are guided by an absolutely incorrect, false premise that the situation on the battlefield is supposedly shifting in favor of Ukrainian forces, which is categorically wrong," he said.
The Russian leadership has repeatedly emphasized that the Russian Federation is allegedly open to contacts with the EU, but expects the initiative to come from European nations, demanding a "dialogue free of ultimatums."
