Overnight attack on Kyiv: Death toll rises — latest updates

The death toll in Kyiv has reached 12, with more than 50 others injured following a Russian strike on the capital.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that overnight into July 6, Russia launched a massive attack on Kyiv with drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. The death toll has risen once again, reaching 12, up from an earlier report of 11 fatalities.

"The death toll from the enemy's massive attack on the capital has risen to 12. More than 50 people have been injured in Kyiv. Medics have provided and continue to provide all necessary assistance to all of them," he said.

During the attack, the section of the building directly above TSN correspondent Kateryna Fedorchenko’s apartment was shattered. She was inside her apartment at the time of the blast but managed to escape. The apartment sustained heavy damage: windows were blown out, furniture was wrecked, a section of the wall is gone, and the ceiling is cracked.
