Ukraine has called on the Russian side not to delay the prisoner exchanges agreed upon in Istanbul on June 2, 2025.

This was stated in a message from the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War (CHTPW).

«Ukraine strictly adheres to the agreements on prisoner exchanges that were reached in Istanbul and hopes for the Russian side’s readiness to do the same, ” the Headquarters said.

They noted that today, on June 12, after the successful completion of another stage of exchanges involving severely wounded and gravely ill prisoners, the Russian side claimed that Ukraine was allegedly not ready for «daily exchanges.»

«We regard such a statement as a continuation of information manipulation and yet another dose of disinformation from the Russian Federation, which has accompanied all stages of the exchanges in accordance with the Istanbul agreements, ” the Headquarters said.

In reality, it was the Russian side that proposed postponing the exchanges to later dates. However, at the insistence of the Ukrainian negotiating team, the exchanges will continue and are scheduled to take place in the coming days.
