Russian forces have destroyed a major critical energy infrastructure facility in the city, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.
"The emergency response headquarters is operating around the clock, with emergency services and specialized teams working at the site," he reported.
Terekhov said municipal workers and energy specialists were doing everything possible to minimize the impact of the strike and maintain control of the situation.
“We had prepared for different scenarios and are now acting clearly and responsibly. We will provide information promptly and to the point,” Terekhov said.
