During the night of December 13, Russian forces attacked the Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv regions. Air raid alerts were declared multiple times, and the strikes continued through the early hours.
TSN.ua has gathered all available details on the aerial attack on Ukrainian cities.
Odesa and the region
The Odesa region endured its heaviest attack in recent times. From midnight, Odesa came under attack by Shahed drones, followed by sea-launched Kalibr cruise missiles. After 2 a.m., the city was struck by Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles and ground-based ballistic missiles.
By early morning, Odesa was attacked by Iskander-K cruise missiles launched from Russia.
Later in the morning, city authorities reported that large parts of Odesa were left without heating and water.
“The strikes caused fires and damaged administrative buildings and energy infrastructure. Emergency services are working to eliminate the consequences. Power outages have been recorded in some parts of the region,” said Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

The State Emergency Service reported four people injured. Rescuers said that, in addition to energy facilities, fires erupted at warehouses containing textile goods. Residential buildings, an administrative building, and civilian and fire service vehicles were also damaged in the region.
Mykolaiv region
Russian occupying forces launched one of their largest attacks on Mykolaiv and the surrounding region. Industrial sites and energy infrastructure were hit. In Mykolaiv, private residential neighborhoods came under shelling. Five people were wounded, Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych said.
A 16-year-old girl, a 48-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man were hospitalized and are in moderate condition.
Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim said cities and villages in the Mykolaiv and Bashtanka districts were left without power. Critical infrastructure across the region is being switched to generators, including 45 district and local boiler houses operated by Mykolaivoblteploenerho.
“The launch of the Mykolaiv CHP plant has started using its own gas turbine units,” Kim said.
Major facilities of the municipal utility Mykolaivvodokanal are also running on generators. Kim said a backup power supply scheme for the regional capital is being prepared. A total of 37 “Points of Invincibility” are operating in Mykolaiv, along with 90 in Mykolaiv district and 73 in Bashtanka district.
Kirovohrad region
Russia launched a combined attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, including strikes on the Kirovohrad region.
The information was confirmed by Andrii Raikovych, Head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration.
He said Russian forces carried out another massive attack using missiles and drones.
“The primary target once again was the region’s energy infrastructure,” Raikovych said.

Fires broke out in Dnipro and across the region after the attack, damaging homes and vehicles. Two people were wounded, one of whom was hospitalized in critical condition.
A drone hit a single-storey, unused building. The State Emergency Service said a man born in 1958 was also taken to hospital in serious condition. Rescuers brought all fires under control.

The Energy Ministry said rolling hourly outages and power restrictions for industry and businesses are in place nationwide.
Zelenskyy responds to the attack
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the massive assault damaged more than a dozen civilian sites across the country. Power cuts were reported in the Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions, while the Dnipropetrovsk and Cherkasy regions also came under attack.
“All essential services are now working to restore electricity and water supply in communities affected by the overnight Russian attack. Once again, the main blow was directed at the energy sector, particularly in the south and in the Odesa region. Thousands of families remain without electricity,” he said.
