Russia pounds major regional capital: 1 killed, fires and destruction reported
Russian drones struck two districts of Kharkiv during morning and afternoon attacks.

On Wednesday, June 3, Russian forces launched several jet-powered drone strikes on Kharkiv, striking targets and causing casualties.

An air raid alert was declared in Kharkiv at 08:20 a.m. The Air Force reported a jet-powered UAV heading toward the city from the south. Explosions were heard in Kharkiv shortly after.
«Several enemy combat drones are heading toward Kharkiv in the air — please stay safe,» Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated.
Consequences of the attack
According to authorities, morning Shahed strikes hit the Kholodnohirskyi and Osnovianskyi districts, sparking fires at the impact sites. A hangar and two cars were damaged.
Russian forces targeted the regional capital again around 11:00 a.m., striking the Osnovianskyi district with drones once more. Falling drone debris ignited a fire.
Information on casualties
The Regional Military Administration reported that six people sought medical assistance following the strike. Three men, aged 18, 66, and 68, along with a 58-year-old woman, sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds from shattered glass. Their conditions are listed as moderate.
A 53-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman suffered acute stress reactions and received medical care on-site.
