"Russia rejects peace": Ukraine declares truce broken following massive overnight strikes
Russia deliberately rejects peace by launching an attack on the eve of the so-called "May 9th truce."

Russia has broken the ceasefire initiated by Ukraine at midnight on May 6. Throughout the night, the enemy launched massive attacks, deploying 108 drones and three missiles, with Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia among the primary targets, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said.
Kyiv emphasizes that Moscow once again ignored the call to cease hostilities, which had been supported by international partners. According to the Ukrainian side, this demonstrates the Kremlin's unwillingness to pursue peace.
"This proves that Russia rejects peace, and its fake calls for a May 9th ceasefire have nothing to do with diplomacy. Putin only cares about military parades, not human lives," Sybiha said.
Ukraine insists on increased international pressure—including new sanctions, Russia's isolation, and expanded support—as well as holding those responsible accountable.
