A Russian drone strike on an ambulance transporting wounded people killed two medics in the Kharkiv region.

The Kharkiv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine released details about the victims.

«Our colleagues — people who saved lives every day — were killed in this attack: doctor Dmytro Kolesnyk and emergency medical technician Oleh Zhuravlov, ” the statement said.

Colleagues described the victims as heroes who continued carrying out their duty to help others until the final moment.

The statement added that another medic from the same crew, paramedic Oleksandr Dudulad, was injured in the attack and is receiving medical treatment.

The Kharkiv emergency medical service stresses that Russian forces are deliberately striking those «who go to save lives, who carry no weapons, who come where people are in pain and fear.»

«The aim of the Russian enemy is to leave people without help and without a chance of rescue — to intimidate medics so that ambulance crews cannot reach the wounded, creating „grey zones“ where there is neither medical care nor rescue, ” the statement said.

The Kharkiv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine expressed condolences to the families of the medics killed in the attack.
