Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha reacted strongly to claims from the Georgian side suggesting that Ukraine is allegedly hindering Georgia’s progress toward joining the EU.
He wrote this in a post on social media X.
In his comment, Sibyha urged Georgia to critically assess its own actions instead of looking for blame abroad.
«Georgian authorities should not take offense at their own reflection in the mirror. All reasons for the poor results on Georgia’s path to EU membership lie in Tbilisi, not Kyiv, ” he emphasized.
Sybiha underlined that Ukraine only wishes the Georgian people success in realizing their European aspirations despite the policies of the current Georgian government.
«Georgia is Europe, not the „Russian world, ” the minister concluded, alluding to what Kyiv sees as a pro-Russian orientation demonstrated by the current Georgian leadership.
