The Istanbul negotiations revealed yet another striking contrast between Russia and Ukraine. Our state looks to the future, while Russia remains stuck in the past.

This was stated by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.

«Ukraine looks to the future, focused on a complete and immediate ceasefire to start a genuine peace process. Russia, on the other hand, is entirely fixated on the past, rejecting a ceasefire and instead constantly referring to the Istanbul meetings of 2022, trying to push the same absurd demands as three years ago, ” Sybiha explained.

This is another reason, he adds, why pressure on Russia must be intensified. Moscow must now understand the consequences of obstructing the peace process.
