Casualties in Kyiv

According to the latest reports, the November 14 strike on Kyiv left four people killed and 27 injured. Among the wounded were a pregnant woman and two children. Medical teams provided assistance to all the injured, and 15 were hospitalized.

Among those hit was an elderly couple who had come to the city only days earlier for the winter. Their apartment was destroyed, and they were trapped under rubble.

“They were spending the summer in the village, and decided to winter in Kyiv. They’d only been here five days when we got a call last night that a strike had hit and the apartment was inaccessible. We grabbed the keys and went over. When I went inside, I saw there were no walls, nothing remained, and my father was trapped up to his waist in debris,” the couple’s son, Andrii recounts.

Ukraine’s Air Force details November 14 strikes

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia carried out a large-scale strike on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure using 449 aerial attack units, on November 14. The attack included:

- 430 strike drones

- 3 Kinzhal missiles

- 1 Zircon missile

- 6 cruise missiles

- 9 Iskander ballistic missiles

Air defenses intercepted 419 of these targets: 405 drones, 2 Kinzhal missiles, 6 ballistic missiles, and 6 cruise missiles. Missile hits and 23 drone impacts were confirmed across 13 locations.

Zelensky’s reaction

“A vile bombardment. A deliberately calculated strike designed to inflict maximum harm on people and civilian infrastructure,” President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said of the overnight Russian attack.

Kyiv was the main target, he said. Fragments of an Iskander missile damaged the Azerbaijani Embassy.

“Ukraine responds with long-range firepower, and the world must use sanctions to stop these attacks on life. Russia is still selling oil and running its schemes. This has to end. Efforts with partners to boost air defenses are ongoing but remain insufficient. More systems and interceptor missiles are needed,” Zelenskyy added.

He emphasized that Europe and the U.S. can assist, and Ukraine “relies on concrete decisions.”
