President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that moving the fighting onto the enemy's territory, from where the war originated, was entirely justified.

The Head of State said this in his traditional video address on the evening of April 3.

The President reported that he visited the village of Yahidne in Chernihiv region today, where, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the occupiers imprisoned all civilian residents in an "improvised" concentration camp. According to him, after de-occupation, many facilities in the village have been restored, new houses are being built, and efforts are underway to preserve the memory of how the Russians held the entire village in the basement of a school. Zelenskyy called the terror in Yahidne one of the most cynical and inhumane crimes of this war.

In Chernihiv, Zelenskyy met with representatives of all the region’s communities.

"Many issues were discussed, especially concerning communities bordering Russia that are constantly under fire. Today, we decided to allocate additional funds to support all such communities — those on the border with the enemy and also frontline communities. Next week, government officials must finalize this: additional funds — substantial funds — for each of these communities to address the most urgent needs," he said.

The Head of State then traveled to Sumy region — "one of the areas where much is being decided." He praised the soldiers of the 80th Brigade, the 82nd Brigade, the 36th Brigade, and all defenders carrying out missions in Kursk region and protecting Sumy from Russia’s persistent attempts to enter Ukraine from these directions.

"Since August of last year, our units have been conducting combat operations on enemy territory — this is one of Ukraine’s greatest achievements during this war. It is absolutely justified to move the war to where it came from. Today, we spoke with unit commanders on this front — about key needs, additional support, equipment supplies, drones, and operational matters. We are working to strengthen our positions," Zelenskyy concluded.
