The United States has assured Ukraine that arms ordered by partners under the PURL program will not be redirected to other regions. At the same time, the risk of such decisions remains.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha made the comments during a press conference following an informal meeting of foreign ministers in the «Ukraine–EU» format on March 31.

Ukraine is in direct talks with partners to prevent possible redistribution of military aid, including to the Middle East, the minister said.

«We have received assurances that at this stage there is no question of redirecting this aid, ” Sybiha said.

Meeting with Rubio in Paris: what was discussed

He added that the issue was discussed at the recent G7 summit in Paris, where he spoke with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Sybiha noted that despite these assurances, Ukraine remains mindful of the risks and continues to work with allies to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of weapons.

«Redirecting aid to the Middle East is a risk, so we are negotiating directly with partners, ” he said.
