Can Kupyansk become the second Bakhmut: the expert's answer

The occupying army of the Russian Federation is preparing assault units to transfer them to the Kupyansk-Lymansk direction.

Kupyansk, Kharkiv region

The Russians continue their offensive in the Kupyansk-Limansk direction. In particular, there is a threat that Kupyansk may turn into a second Bakhmut.

This opinion was expressed by military expert Serhii Grabskyi on the air of the telethon.

According to him, in the event of a breakthrough of the Russian defense in the south, the Russian society will have to be "fed" something under the guise of some supposedly outstanding victory.

"Like the fact that we came close to Kupyansk, this is an outstanding victory, we almost captured this important enemy communication hub, we are restoring our control over the Kharkiv region, and the unfortunate defeats in the south are not worth our attention," the expert predicts.

The next question lies in the military plane.

"By concentrating such forces and means that they can afford in this direction, the enemy is trying to divert our forces and means from the southern direction, forcing us to transfer more reserves to this direction in order to deter the offensive," adds Grabovsky.

The situation there remains very difficult today.

We are now holding the enemy's pressure with a defined set of forces and means. There is some risk. that the enemy can simply outnumber us in terms of forces and means, and in certain areas we cannot rule out intense combat operations. Can Kupyansk become the second Bakhmut — yes, quite likely, we need to be ready for this," the expert summarizes.

We will remind that the occupying army of the Russian Federation is preparing assault squads and transferring units of the 25th Army to the section of the Kupyansk-Lyman front.
