The special operation conducted by Ukraine's Defense Forces in Russia’s Kursk region has already achieved its primary objective. A change in the "frontline architecture" could occur in this area in the near future.

This opinion was expressed by military expert Roman Svitan in a comment to "24 Kanal."

According to him, during the Kursk operation, Ukrainian units tied down nearly 100,000 Russian troops in this sector, preventing the occupiers from advancing toward the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. The expert believes that it was precisely due to the Kursk operation that Pokrovsk was able to be held.

At the same time, Roman Svitan noted that due to the anticipated reduction in military aid from the United States, the offensive operations of Ukraine's Defense Forces in the Kursk region should be ended.

"The frontline needs to be realigned along the border, creating a so-called security zone. We can use the Seim River as cover, and establish a safe zone spanning several dozen kilometers in the direction of Sumy," he explained.

According to him, this will allow us to go on the defensive in better positions, “tie up” Russian troops and cover the Sumy region.

"How exactly and with what forces this "shift in frontline architecture" will take place remains classified information. I think we’ll see it in the near future," the expert suggested.
