Violent Fighting Continues: Ukrainian Armed Forces Report on the Situation near Soledar

Over the past 24 hours, over 85 attacks and 8 combat engagements took place in the area of Soledar. Fierce fighting continues in the Bakhmut sector, as Serhiy Cherevatyi, the Spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said this on the air of the national TV marathon.

According to him, Ukrainian soldiers left Soledar and retreated to the previously prepared defense lines.

"They did not leave chaotically, but retreated under cover, as covertly as possible. There was no panic, no escape, no encirclement or mass captivity, which is what the enemy wanted and they were hype about in their Telegram channels. Fierce fighting is still going on there," Cherevatyi said.

He added that in the Bakhmut sector, fighting is ongoing in the area of Soledar, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Rozdolivka, Blahodatne, Bakhmut and Klishchiivka.

"Our defense forces are constantly holding the attack of Russians, who are barraging us with all types of artillery, multiple rocket launchers and aviation. They attempted 199 attacks in this area over the past 24 hours," Cherevatyi said.
