A 14-year-old girl from Bucha, raped by russian invaders, plans to leave the child

Doctors warned that if the victim had an abortion, she would probably not be able to have children in future.

Psychologist Oleksandra Kvitko says she works with five girls aged 14-18 who became pregnant due to the rape by Russian soldiers. The Russians raped not only women but also men and young children. The youngest victim, with whom Oleksandra works, is 10 years old. Ombudswoman Lyudmila Denisova said, that only 12 cases of pregnancy were reported among the victims of the occupiers' rape.

Ukrainian women who got pregnant after being raped by Russians and are currently in Poland cannot terminate an unwanted pregnancy. Polish abortion legislation is very strict.

Oleksandra Matviychuk, chairwoman of the Civil Liberties Center, wrote on Twitter that Polish psychologists sometimes called on Ukrainian women who had been raped by Russian soldiers to keep their children. "This is how they ruin the lives of both," Matviychuk said.

According to her, it is impossible to determine exactly how many people suffered from sexual violence during the war.

"Sexual violence in this war is the most hidden crime. And for every girl or woman who is willing to tell human rights or law enforcement about it in private, there are many other people who will be silent for years," Matviychuk said.
