A military expert explained how Ukraine can fundamentally change the situation at the front
Military expert Petro Chernyk talked about the necessary factors for turning the situation on the battlefield in favor of the Armed Forces.
War in Ukraine
The situation on the battlefield remains difficult. In order to return the initiative to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, coordination of a number of important factors is necessary. In particular, one of the most crucial factors that could contribute to a turning point in the war is a large quantity of weaponry.
Military expert Petro Chernyk told "24 Kanal" about this.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that acquiring "Taurus" missiles could change the course of the war with Russian occupiers. However, the German Ministry of Defense believes the opposite and once again asserts that neither German soldiers nor long-range "Taurus" missiles will be provided to Ukraine.
"Zelenskyy understands the situation 100% correctly: a sufficient number of long-range missiles of various classes - "Taurus", "Storm Shadow" and especially "ATACMS" - seriously changes the situation. Especially for the Crimean bridge," Petro Chernyk emphasized. In Germany, there are only a total of 600 "Taurus" missiles. Therefore, if they were to be transferred to Ukraine, only a small quantity - no more than 40 units - would be available. Of course, even this would be beneficial, as they could be used to destroy a huge enemy ammunition depot or military airfield.
"To break through everything, one needs thousands or more of various missiles. There's another nuance. There's no such thing as a "wunderwaffe," meaning miracle weapon. War and its turning point require the coordination of a vast array of diverse factors. Primarily, it's the work of branches and troops," - the military expert explained.
He emphasized that in order to achieve the maximum result on the battlefield, a comprehensive approach is necessary. In particular, we are talking about the combination of the largest possible number of air defense systems, a sufficient number of aircraft and missile-bombing load for them, the availability of long-range weapons, and electronic warfare means.
"Will we reach this point? I'm confident we will. The only thing I won't do is predict when it will happen," Chernyk added.
