A military man talks about Russian tactics near Pokrovsk
As long as the occupiers have the opportunity to advance and expand the front, they will continue to do so.
The occupiers aim to bypass Pokrovsk from the flanks.
The occupiers are storming the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Pokrovsk direction and aim to flank the city of Pokrovsk itself.
This was reported by the head of the Council of Reservists of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Ivan Tymochko to "24 Kanal."
However, the occupiers' advances are proving very difficult, noted Tymochko.
He stated that in order to maintain such a pace of offensive, the Russians need to commit extremely serious military resources.
Ivan Tymochko emphasizes that during their offensive on Pokrovsk, the Russians will try to cut off the supply logistics for the Defense Forces from the southern side of the city.
"From the eastern side of Pokrovsk, it is much more difficult for the occupiers to advance because nearby is Myrnohrad. The Russians are definitely not capable of attacking two cities at once, as they have been concentrating their forces near Pokrovsk for several months," he said.
In the military's opinion, the enemy will attempt to advance along the flanks, and later, possibly "launch a frontal attack", following the example of Toretsk.
"As long as the occupiers have the opportunity to advance and expand the front, they will do so. But once they are stopped, they will attempt to attack from the other side," he emphasized.
According to Tymochko, the occupiers have lost over 150,000 people around the city, due to the active offensive. And if urban combat begins, the number of dead and wounded will rise even further.
