«An aerial ceasefire will bring much grief»: Expert makes surprising statement
An expert has warned of the risks the so-called «aerial ceasefire» could pose to the front line.
Air truce with Russia
An «aerial ceasefire» that Russia might agree to would bring Ukraine «much grief and problems» on the battlefield.
This opinion was expressed by Head of the Reservists' Council of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and military expert Ivan Tymochko, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.
«This ceasefire will bring us a lot of grief and problems. First of all, because if ground combat operations do not stop, then Russia will have the opportunity to amass large convoys of armored vehicles, accumulate a significant number of troops, and move their supply depots as close as possible to the front line — within artillery range, ” Tymochko said.
He did not rule out that the Russians could place such supply depots in open areas 30–40 km from the front, since drone strikes deep into enemy territory would be restricted.
In the expert’s view, an aerial ceasefire could even benefit Russia. He noted that Russia now needs more and more time to stockpile missiles for strikes.
As for the use of drones, Tymochko believes that while Russia has achieved mass production and large-scale launches, their success rate in striking military targets remains low. According to him, the real purpose of drone attacks is different: the genocide of the Ukrainian people.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has started to strike Russian military facilities — especially those responsible for logistics and supplying the enemy’s army.
«On one hand, they [the Russians] aren’t suffering physical losses. But on the other hand, they become a growing mass of discontent against the Putin regime. Naturally, Putin is now trying to defuse all these negative sentiments. Of course, he wants to resume the accumulation of weapons, ” the expert added.
