The capture of the village of Progres by the Russian invaders in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region could allow the occupiers to establish a safety buffer to the south of the T0511 highway. This opinion was expressed by military-political analyst of the "Information Resistance" group Oleksandr Kovalенко on Espresso TV.

"Progres is a village that connects the left bank of the Vovcha River and the Karlivka Reservoir with access to Karlivkam - Netailove. What kind of area is this? It is a line, an axis along which the Russians tried, after capturing Avdiivka, to eventually create a safety buffer entirely south of the T0511 highway. This highway goes from Avdiivka through Ocheretyne and essentially to Pokrovsk. By creating such a safety buffer, a southern flank, they can hold their defense using the natural barrier of the Vovcha River and the Karlivka Reservoir. Additionally, they can concentrate their forces and resources directly either on the Toretsk direction, or on the T0504 highway from Pokrovsk to Kostiantynivka," Kovalanko explained.

According to the expert, as of today, the village of Vozdvyzhenka acts as a barrier for the Russians on the T0504 highway.

"This village is quite well-fortified, and beyond it, there are approximately 4 kilometers of our defensive lines. So, the threat remains as it was two months ago, three months ago, and six months ago. It exists because cutting off T0504 is one of their main combat objectives. However, achieving this goal will not be a short-term prospect," the military-political analyst of the "Information Resistance" group concluded.
