Russian aggressors have been conducting their offensive since October 10 of last year, when they began the operation to occupy Avdiivka.
Military expert Mykhailo Samus said this on the "1+1" channel.
"They destroyed Avdiivka, they occupied Avdiivka and they continued their advance, taking advantage of the opportunities they currently feel due to the absence of American assistance," the expert explained.
Samus noted that Russian aggressors are exerting all their efforts to break through the front lines.
"The main direction now is Chasiv Yar, and further they would try to advance towards Kramatorsk, Sloviansk. It's one direction for them. There is the Lyman direction and the Vuhledar direction," he said.
The expert explained why the Russian summer offensive could begin in May-June.
"They are currently actively recruiting contractors, offering around 1 million rubles upon signing. In this way, they are trying to avoid the classical mobilization and recruit 100-200 thousand contractors and prepare them for the moment when, for example, the front lines are breached on these three directions. Then they intend to deploy this reserve and advance into strategic territory and achieve other successes," Samus stated.
