In the city of Toretsk in Donetsk region, which is being stormed by the Russian invaders, some buildings remain intact, which means urban combat could drag on for months.
Military expert Oleksiy Hetman shared this view in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
"Urban battles can be fought on three levels: on the ground, in the buildings, and in underground utilities," he noted.
According to Hetman, Russian forces are positioned to the east of Toretsk, so it's unlikely they will "shell themselves."
"As long as Toretsk is not destroyed like other cities, it could take a long time for them to capture it," the expert explained.
