Russian forces do not control Pokrovsk, and attempts by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRGs) to break through are promptly detected and neutralized by Ukrainian units.

This was stated on July 31 during a broadcast of Radio Donbas.Realities by Artem Prybylnov, head of communications for the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Anna of Kyiv.

He commented on information spread by Russian media claiming that Russian troops had allegedly entered the city.

«This is yet another fabrication of Kremlin propaganda. Pokrovsk remains fully under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. There have been attempts by enemy SRGs to break through, but our units quickly detect and neutralize them. We have the situation under control. Such reports are merely an attempt to sow panic among the population and allies,» Prybylnov stated.

According to DeepState analytics, the occupiers took advantage of a moment when one of the Ukrainian brigades lacked infantry and there was confusion in assessing the situation, attempting to break through to Pokrovsk.

The brigade representative emphasizes that such disinformation is an element of information warfare. He notes that the actions of sabotage and reconnaissance groups are limited in time and resources:

«These are either attempts to distract our forces through demonstrative attacks or maneuvers to find weak spots in our defense.»

According to him, these groups consist of special forces operatives, not mobilized soldiers.

«We are talking about trained specialists who carry out sabotage tasks directly in Pokrovsk,» he explained.
