Highly threatening situation in one of Ukraine's regions: Enemy is wedging in, heavy fighting underway
Russian army attempts to break into Sumy region from east and north with small assault groups; no breakthrough reported yet.
Russian offensive in the Sumy region
Russian forces have launched active assaults across various sectors of the front in the Sumy region. Currently, four enemy incursions have been recorded along the border, where tough combat continues.
The reports were confirmed by TSN special correspondent Yulia Kyriienko and Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko.
"The situation in the Sumy region is highly threatening," the journalist stated.
According to Kyriienko, reports from the previous day indicated that enemy assault operations had intensified against two Ukrainian brigades holding different sectors of the front.
As of now, four occupier incursions have been recorded along the state border. Russian troops are advancing in small groups from both the east and the north.
The enemy is continuously deploying guided aerial bombs and artillery, maintaining non-stop attacks.
"The worst-case scenario is that Sumy could find itself in a state of semi-encirclement," Kyriienko noted.
At the same time, Kovalenko reported that an enemy infiltration zone has formed in the border areas of the Sumy region, where the adversary is attempting to intensify assaults by using early spring foliage for concealed movement.
"Fighting is heavy, no deep breakthrough as of now," the CСD head said.
He added that Ukrainian forces are doing their utmost to prevent the invaders from expanding their foothold in the Sumy region, while the enemy is suffering significant losses.
