Russia is moving reserves southwest of Pokrovsk to bypass the city on the flank and cut off the Ukrainian Armed Forces' logistics.
This was reported by Stanislav "Osman" Buniatov, the commander of a platoon in the 24th Separate Assault Brigade "Aidar".
"It is clear that the enemy will not storm Pokrovsk head-on. The enemy is moving reserves to the southwest to bypass the city on the flank and cut off one of the main logistical routes to the city," he stated.
Buniatov also notes that if the Russian army achieves this goal, they will attempt to enter the city. The most realistic scenario would be from the direction of the settlement of Shevchenko.
What is known about the offensive on Pokrovsk
The Russian army approached the eastern outskirts of this large industrial city as early as the end of summer. To capture it, the Kremlin concentrated the forces of three combined arms armies on this section of the front. Although analysts predicted the beginning of the "battle for Pokrovsk" as early as September, it did not occur.
Ukrainian forces managed to halt the enemy's advance toward Pokrovsk and its satellite city of Myrnohrad at the line of the villages of Lysivka, Sukhy Yar, Promin, and Myrolyubivka, about 8-10 kilometers away.
