No protection can save against a direct missile strike, the energy expert said.
Ildar Saleev, CEO of "DTEK Energy", believes that only air defense systems can protect Ukraine's energy sector from Russian missile strikes.
He said this in an interview with TSN.
Ildar Saleev says that efforts to strengthen the protection of the energy sector have never ceased. However, only air defense systems can protect such facilities.
"Efforts to strengthen protection never stopped and began long before the attacks. Everyone strengthened the physical protection of the main equipment. But physical protection cannot save from targeted missile strikes. For example, the turbine of a power plant is located among concrete walls. But they do not protect against a direct missile hit. Only air defense systems can provide protection," he explained.
