As a result of a drone attack on the Mykolaiv CHP, the power generation was destroyed. Because of this, local residents were left without heating.
This was reported by City Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych.
CHP subscribers in Mykolaiv were left without heating after a Russian drone attack during the night of February 16.
"The power generation was completely destroyed. We are currently trying to restore heating using alternative solutions. Workers from both the CHP and Mykolaivoblteploenergo are involved. The work is ongoing. Without going into details, it is really difficult," the mayor said.
He added that municipal services were working throughout the day to eliminate the aftermath of the strikes.
The mayor also mentioned that modular boilers, which the city received from Denmark, helped maintain heating in Mykolaiv's hospitals.
"Throughout the day, our municipal services have been dealing with the aftermath of the strikes in two districts. They cleaned the streets and sealed windows for the residents. Tomorrow, the cleanup will continue. I am grateful to every worker who contributed today for the benefit of the city," the mayor added.
According to him, one of the strikes by the Russian army hit the roadway of Central Avenue in Mykolaiv. Later, it was found that the strike had directly hit the sewage collector. Specialists from Mykolaivvodokanal are repairing it.
Despite everything, trolleybuses continued to operate in the city on a new route to Matviivka. All public transport was functioning without disruptions.
Tomorrow, February 17, the work of municipal services and energy workers in Mykolaiv will continue.
