Invaders Force Luhansk Region Resident to Receive Russian Passports Before January 1st – Haidai
According to Serhii Haidai, the invaders openly force the population to accept Russian passports.
Serhii Haidai, the Head of Luhansk Region Administration, in his Telegram post reports that the invaders have set up a deadline before January 1st for all Luhansk Region residents to receive the Russian passports.
According to him, the Russians “have given the local population a little more than two months to get thr Russian passports. Previously, they were mostly dealing either with populism, or with own desire of some residents. However, now they don’t ask anymore whether you want to accept this passport or not".
As Haidai says, after January 1st, any cash payments, including, but not limited to salaries, social benefits and money transfers, will be available only for holders of individual personnel accounts.
"To open this account, the Russian passport is mandatory required. They don’t use direct physical violence, but they threaten to leave people without any source of income. Moreover, they conceal information about strict criminal liability related to this matter in Ukraine", he stresses.
According to Haidai, for the sake of own security, the invaders “shut down power supply and communication isolating the local population from the rest of the world”.
"The town is almost empty. Everyone is hiding in cellars and basements. However, even without electricity, people feel that the AFU is approaching”, he summarized.
