It is expected that the intensity of combat operations will remain high throughout the winter because Russian forces employ small infantry units that attempt to reach the frontlines on foot.
This was stated by Commander of the "Achilles" UAV Battalion of the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, Yuriy Fedorenko, as reported by Hromadske.
Yuriy Fedorenko says that most servicemen do not expect a decline in combat intensity during winter. According to him, the Russians will likely reduce their use of highly maneuverable equipment, such as motorcycles and buggies. At the same time, the enemy rarely uses heavy armored vehicles even now, as they are being destroyed by the Defense Forces.
“But the enemy’s assault infantry is being deployed around the clock. It consists of a "motley audience" - trained servicemen, convicts, and elements of private military companies like "Storm-Z,” he said.
The commander of the Achilles Battalion states that the Russians are using light infantry to maintain a presence in Kruhlyakivka in the Kupiansk direction but have not achieved significant tactical advantages. The occupiers infiltrated the forest near Kolisnykivka and are trying to strengthen their presence toward Borova. The 1st Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, "Bureviy," has knocked the Russians out of the forest. The Russians may also use armored vehicles and sometimes infiltrate behind the lines by disguising themselves in Ukrainian military uniforms.
