Frontline "kill zones" now span 10–20 km and continue to expand. Drones and mining are making these territories lethally dangerous.

The "kill zone" on the front line is expanding. Enemy drones are turning dozens of kilometers into a zone of mortal danger, said Oles Maliaryevych, Deputy Commander of the "Achilles" Unmanned Systems Brigade.

The so-called "kill zone" has already expanded to a depth of 10–20 kilometers, Den.LIVE reports.

Frontline "kill zone" expanding: What it means

According to Oles Maliarevych, a "kill zone" is a territory where neither vehicles nor even ground robotic complexes can effectively advance.

The entire danger zone is heavily mined and under constant drone coverage from both sides.

The officer warned that the expansion of the "kill zone" is extremely dangerous. It means that the 10–20 kilometer distance from the frontline is no longer safe for either civilians or the military.

Ukrainian troops are forced to move on foot for up to 20 kilometers one way, carrying supplies and ammunition under constant aerial threat from drones.

According to Maliarevych, the "kill zone" will only continue to grow, and towns and villages caught within it may be left completely destroyed. It could potentially stretch up to 40 kilometers from the front line into Ukraine’s rear areas.

The area may become fully mined and controlled by both Ukrainian and Russian drones.
