Linkevicius Urged to Supply Ukraine with Tanks, Aircrafts and Long-Range Artillery
Former Minister urged to lift all restrictions on weapon supplies to Ukraine.
Lithuania should not limit in any way its assistance to Ukraine, which must liberate its territories from the Russian invaders, as former Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius said in his interview for FREEDOM TV channel.
According to him, the war can be stopped only when Ukraine liberates its territories from the Russian invaders. Linkevicius stressed that for this purpose it was necessary to strengthen military aid to Ukraine and not to limit it.
"All the time, there have been some restrictions on supplies of offensive weapons, for example, on supplies of the long-range artillery. There is a lot of space for discussion in here. We are among those who insist that Ukraine should receive tanks, fighter jets and long-range artillery, because the whole territory of Ukraine must be liberated. It doesn’t matter what wordings we may use, it doesn’t affect the essence”, the politician stressed.
The Minister added that Lithuania itself should also increase its weapon production in order to become the stronger country within the NATO context.
