Missile attack on Cherkasy: what was the target of the occupiers
Eleven people were injured.
Missile attack on Cherkasy
In the early morning of September 21, Russian occupying forces launched missile attacks on Cherkasy. They were likely targeting critical infrastructure; however, missile fragments fell on a hotel in the city center.
Head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Taburets, announced the completion of the rescue operation in an interview with "Radio Svoboda."
It is likely that Russian forces attacked the city with air-to-ground missiles of the X-101 class, which are launched from strategic bombers. Missile debris fell on the hotel the day before.
"With a high probability, the missiles were aimed at energy facilities. Within the Cherkasy region, such substations exist, so it is likely that the rockets were headed there," says the Head of the Regional Military Administration.
The rescue operation in the city lasted nearly a day. No one was found under the rubble overnight. As a result of the occupier's attack, 11 people were injured. Six are currently in the hospital, with two of them in critical condition.
