The Ukrainian government expects that the upcoming NATO summit in Washington this July will solidify the irreversible integration of Ukraine into the North Atlantic Alliance.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Olha Stefanishyna, as reported by Interfax-Ukraine.
"Our expectations regarding Euro-Atlantic integration remain unchanged: membership," she emphasized.
Olha Stefanishyna expressed gratitude to those allies who recognize the danger of any "ambiguous wording regarding Ukraine's integration."
"Ukraine will not be a "grey zone". This is a matter of our survival. We hope that the allies' decisions at the summit will enshrine this position," she stressed.
According to the government representative, for Ukraine, as a state that is fighting for its survival for the third year in a row, not only wording is important, but also concrete actions on the part of NATO partners.
"That is why we are preparing a package of decisions together with the allies for the NATO summit in Washington, which will strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities," Stefanishyna noted.
