Nuclear weapons in Belarus: Russia and the Republic of Belarus signed documents on their placement

On May 25, the Ministers of Defense of Russia and Belarus, Serhiy Shoigu and Viktor Khrenin, signed documents on the placement of Russian non-strategic nuclear weapons on the territory of the republic.

This was reported by the Russian media of mass propaganda.

Thus, Shoigu and Khrenin signed documents defining the retention of Russian non-strategic nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory.

The Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation emphasized that by placing nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, Moscow does not transfer them to Minsk. Control over weapons and the decision to use them remains with Russia.

"The deployment of non-strategic nuclear weapons is an effective response to the aggressive policy of countries unfriendly to us," Khrenin commented.

He also reported on the preparation of the Belarusian army for the deployment of nuclear weapons.

"The Su-25 aircraft have been modified to enable the use of aviation weapons with nuclear capabilities. Military personnel from the Republic of Belarus underwent training at Russian Federation training grounds and gained practical skills in their operation," said the Belarusian Minister of Defense.
