The Russian occupiers openly discussed the killings of civilians in Pokrovsk and fleeing their positions after committing the crime.

This is evidenced by a radio interception released by the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

The intelligence service reports that near Pokrovsk, two Russian military personnel shot local residents and abandoned their positions. This is corroborated by an officer of the 30th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of Russia’s 3rd Army in the intercepted call. He says:

«See, there are two rookies, two rookies; they could come to your area. These bastards shot civilians and ran.»

The interception also includes an order to detain those involved in the crime:

«So if you see them, detain them all — once you spot them, tie them all up.»

The Defence Intelligence says systematic killings of civilians and extrajudicial executions by Russian troops reflect a deliberate policy of the aggressor state.

«There will be just retribution for every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people, ” the agency said.
