Polish carriers, blocking checkpoints on the border with Ukraine, are not allowing fuel tankers and humanitarian cargoes for our country to pass.

This was reported by Serhiy Derkach, Deputy Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, who was at the checkpoint on Sunday, November 19.

"It is obvious that statements about allowing humanitarian aid and dangerous cargoes also do not correspond to reality. We have recorded numerous cases where fuel tankers and humanitarian aid vehicles are standing in queues," he noted.

Ukrainian government officials sent information about these cases to the Polish authorities.

"Ukraine and Poland will file lawsuits against the strikers who are blocking the movement of vehicles across the border.

Ukraine and Poland are preparing lawsuits for compensation for the losses, caused by the blocking of border checkpoints due to the protest of Polish carriers.

Vice President of the Association of International Road Carriers (ASMAP), Volodymyr Balin, stated this on the air of the telethon.

"The situation is essentially critical, and today we are talking about having legal support already in Poland. Lawyers have received two tasks. The first task is to quickly resolve the situation. The second task is to determine who is at fault and who will pay these losses. We are working on this together with our colleagues," he said.

Balin expressed confidence that these lawsuits will be filed in the nearest future.

"Carriers are already preparing lawsuits. And there are Polish lawyers ready to file these lawsuits against the strikers in Poland. Tomorrow evening, we will have information regarding permits -who issued them, who requested them, on what grounds. And all of this will form the basis," he said.

At the Ukrainian-Polish border, a support headquarters has been established to aid Ukrainian drivers who remain stranded due to the strike by Polish carriers.
