In the coming weeks, the situation in Ukraine's power system will be much tougher than it is now.
This was stated by Chairman of the Management Board of "Ukrenergo" Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, on the air of "Suspilne".
According to him, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. the outage schedules will be somewhat more extensive than during the rest of the day. This situation will likely continue until the end of July, due to the specific nature of repairs on the nuclear power plant units.
"Therefore, we need to prepare for the fact that for about a month and a half, outage schedules will be a part of our lives. They may be quite significant, especially in the evening hours, during peak consumption times," said Kudrytskyi.
He identified three factors that influence the outage schedules.
"Globally, three factors affect the duration of blackouts and the size of the deficit. These are the repairs of nuclear power plants, which are traditionally carried out in the summer. These are the amounts of imports. And this is the weather, which affects consumption," the head of Ukrenergo explained.
He also assures that the methodology for outages will be more or less balanced and evenly distributed across regions, except for the frontline areas.
